Republic Day Speech In English (sample)

Good Morning, Ladies & Gentlemen; 1st of all, I wish you a very Happy Republic Day. It’s an important day for all the Indians. Today, when a few fellow Indians discuss the fear of losing basic rights that the constitution has provided us, this day becomes more important. Although we’ve marked Republic Day as a national festival since our childhood, we know the real importance of this day when we grow up.

Gantantra Diwas is marking on 26th January each year. Our constitution offers us various rights & responsibilities, as well. We live in a democratic nation where people enjoy their fundamental rights. India is a land that is a great example of “Unity in Diversity”. The beauty of our nations is we’ve different languages, and we as well have conflicts and differences, but on national festivals, we all stand as a united force.

Republic Day Speech for Kids

Respected Principal, Teachers & all my dear friends.

Today, I am standing in front of you to offer a speech on Republic Day. I was so enthralled when my class teacher told me a few days back that you’ve selected to deliver a speech on the 26th of January. I am exciting but a bit nervous as well because I never gave a speech earlier in my school life.

As you all know, today we’ve gathered here to mark the auspicious day of Republic Day, which we as well popular as “Gantantra Divas”, and as we all know, on this day in 1950, our full constitution came into effect. But, it was adopting on the 26th of November 1949 under the chairmanship of our beloved Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, and we all know him as the father of the Indian Constitution; he was one of the greatest leaders of modern India at that time.

It’s a Gazetted holiday, but schools remain open to organize different functions in their school just as we’re doing. Students perform many cultural activities & sing patriotic songs to remember our freedom fighters & mark the event. Our principal hoists the national flag; similarly, the president of India hoists the flag at Rajpath, and each year, they invite special chief guests from different nations.

On the eve of Republic Day, our president gave a speech in the name of the Nation. The president of India gave some important awards such as Ashoka Chakra and Kirti Chakra to the soldiers of India & bravery awards to the peoples of India.

But the biggest celebration is marking at the Rajpath in New Delhi. Chief guests from different world nations are inviting to witness the celebration each year. The parade’s main attraction is the tableau of the selected states through which they showcase the culture & tradition of their states. The preparation for this parade began at least six months before Republic Day. Artists & students from different parts of the country take part in this celebration to make it memorable & grand.

26th January Speech For Students in English

Good Morning, respected principal, teachers & my dear friends. My name is (Your name), I am studying in class (Your class name), and I wish to offer a speech on the Republic Day celebration. On this event of Republic Day, I would like to thank my class teacher for allowing me to speak about Republic Day.  Today, we’re all gathered here to mark the 76th Republic Day of our country.

On 26January 1950, our country got its constitution. We got our independence on 15 August 1947, but before 26th January 1950, we followed the British laws & rules. Since 26th January 1950, we have had our own rules & laws that are implementing for all Indians.

Our constitution has come into existence after many debates & amendments. On 26 November 1949, the drafting committee of the constitution was forming & Dr B. R. Ambedkar was appointing chairperson of the committee. After a debate in both houses, the constitution came into existence & we became a republic nation. A republic means that the country’s peoples hold supreme power to elect representatives. The Constitution provides all of us the same rights despite differences in religion, colour, or language.

A grand celebration of Republic day is held in the Capital of India, Delhi. On this event, ceremonial parades happen at the Rajpath in the presence of the President. The celebration begins at the gates of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President of India unfurled the national flag & addressed the country with a Republic Day speech. The prestigious awards of the nation are as well shared to martyrs and heroes of the army & civilians on this occasion.

Republic Day Speech For Teacher

1st of all, I would like to say thanks to the respected guest who came here to encourage us & the students despite having a busy schedule. I want to say thanks to the principal, my colleagues & all the students who have took part in this program.  As we all know, today our nation is marking ‘Republic Day’. On this day back in 1950, our constitution came into force. The constitution is like a religious book for a nation, and we require to offer it the same respect as we offer to our religious book.

As our religious books tell us what we should do and what actions we should avoid, in the same way, the constitution of India recommends to us what we should do as peoples of the nation & what actions we require to avoid. We’ve some rules & regulations in schools & in the same way, we’ve to follow some regulations to be in this nation.

Our constitution has provided us a few responsibilities & a few rights, as well. As both rights & responsibilities come together, we’re expecting to fulfil the responsibility as a people 1st before claiming our rights. You’ve the right to get an education, but you as well carry the responsibility to an obedient student.

Many top leaders play a prominent role in the preparation of the constitution of India. Dr B. R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the constitution drafting committee. At that time, when India had many social issues like casteism & others, the constitution gave the right to equality. When the nation was facing riots & witnessed the partition based on religion our constitution-makers chose to make India a republic & democratic nation. We all are proud of the equality we get here, and it is shared to us by our constitution. So, happy Republic Day! Mark this day as a festival because, on this day, India became a republic nation.
