As per reports, Nirmala Sitaraman, the finance minister launched the PM eVidya program on 18 May 2020. The PM eVidya initiative gave the top 100 institutions permission to automatically begin offering online courses on May 31st, 2020. There are a large number of students in the nation who do not have access to the internet. So, the government has decided to provide the Swayam Prabha DTH channel which offers education to all those students. Under this scheme, the central government will also launch 12 additional channels that are as similar to the Swayam Prabha DTH channel. One of which is the Diksha Platform will be launched to provide electronic content and books with QR codes for all classes. Through this platform, students are able to continue their studies without any hurdles whereas, this platform becomes very beneficial for all students because it saves them time by which they are able to give time to their studies.
